The Adolescence Dog Course is a 6-week program designed to help your dog transition smoothly from the puppy stage into adulthood, fostering respectful behavior and reinforcing good habits that will last a lifetime. As your dog matures, they may experience behavioral shifts, and this course focuses on guiding them through this important developmental phase.

Course Overview:

Building a Strong Foundation

We start with a review of basic obedience commands, ensuring your dog understands the fundamentals. This week sets the tone for positive communication, focusing on engagement and impulse control.

Managing Energy & Focus

Adolescence often brings bursts of energy. In this week, we teach your dog how to channel that energy appropriately, work on focusing techniques, and enhance their attention span even in exciting or distracting environments.

Social Skills & Mannerisms

Learning to be respectful in social settings is key to a well-behaved adult dog. We’ll guide your dog through appropriate interactions with other dogs and people, emphasising polite greetings and body language.

Impulse Control & Patience

Your dog will learn essential skills like waiting for permission before moving, resisting distractions, and understanding boundaries. These lessons will help prevent undesirable behaviours such as jumping or pulling.

Recall & Responsiveness

Teaching your dog to reliably come when called is essential for safety and control. We’ll work on reinforcing recall in different environments, helping your dog understand the importance of responding to you, no matter the distractions.

Building Confidence & Reinforcing Respect

We focus on confidence-building exercises, continue reinforcing obedience, and fine-tune all skills learned throughout the course.
